This is what a salsa class with Andrea Elmore looks like. It doesn’t need to be perfect—I expect you to make mistakes. That is the best way to learn. I give tips and corrections that help you improve step by step. You will not learn everything in one class; it takes several classes, repetition, and consistency. This is the environment we create: you will have a lot of fun, and we laugh a lot in these classes.

Usually, these are drop-in classes, which are a great way to start. I do offer one class on Wednesdays, but that class is only available through a membership. It’s one class per week and happens every Friday at 8:00 PM for intermediate level

✨ Right turn for the follower
✨ Right turn with a double-hand connection
✨ Left turn for the follower
✨ Finished with open hands to the side
✨ Hand toss (tossing the hand)
✨ Ended with a leader’s shoulder shimmy

This was one of the first times we performed this choreography. This is a mambo piece inspired by the song “Sentimiento Original.” It was challenging, especially because it was my first time choreographing salsa on 2. I enjoyed the process the most while building it—not only because I had a big part in the creation, but also because I felt very inspired, happy, and excited to dance salsa.

This was back in July 2024.

People who know me know that I struggled with salsa on 2 at the beginning. Everyone has their own way of explaining their experience, but my challenge as a teacher is not only translating what I know from salsa on 1 into salsa on 2, but also figuring out how to teach someone who has no reference at all—how to build that understanding from the ground up.
